The East Asia Peace Ambassadors Project began in 2020 to create peace through dialogue among citizens.
This year, we finally have less than a year to go until 2025, the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
After four years of initial planning, the 2024 project will enter its fifth year.
Over the four years, we have had 39 events and initiatives within the project that we have implemented, with 366 people participating in various ways.
The next three years include the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Under the theme of reconciliation and coexistence in East Asia, our goal is to gather voices of wishes for tomorrow that transcend generations and affiliations, and to form a postwar 80th anniversary discourse from civil society that transcends domestic and international connections.
Our August gathering is simply to walk around the two significant sites which symbolize the memory of the last war in Japan; Chidorigafuchi Naional Cemetary, Yasukuni shrine, and Yushukan (museum).

This is an annual project of WUJ that began in 2020.
The project's philosophy is to create a society where the next generation in East Asia will no longer say âWe are geographically close, yet psychologically farâ.
During the project period, monthly events will be held to create opportunities for dialogue and collaboration among people involved in reconciliation and coexistence in East Asia.
